Except, if I wanted to read poetry, I would have purchased a book by ee cummings or Walt Whitman rather than this M/M romance. I drowned under the weight of lengthy sentences, melodramatic descriptions and wordy dialogue. The numerous adjectives used in new and unusual ways left me wanting to laugh and cry at the same time." A planted palm tree stumbled by the corner of his eye."
" A moan from deep in Saul's throat held forth."
" There was a grunt of lukewarm disappointment when the navel was deserted all together for points further south."
" Whatever social graces hadn't wept out of his d--k made one more attempt at pulling Saul from the brink of the sex in public kink."
" It was the proverbial morning after and the banana in Saul's fruit bowl was taunting him."
These are just a few examples from the first dozen pages of the story that drove me crazy. Who thinks or talks like this? This author is trying too hard to produce a work of art, that she has forgotten the people who are buying the book may just want a good story.

I really enjoyed this story.
Saul is a cardiac surgeon, relocating from South Carolina to Las Vegas after his divorce. Mercer is a former baseball player who is rebuilding his life after discovering a severe heath condition.
These two meet, have an encounter, part ways, then meet again under different circumstances.
Mercer pursues Saul, and what follows is a realistic, sweet love story.
I like to slow build as Saul allows his heart to open up again. And when the two have the first conversation about Anthony, my heart bled a little.
Give this story a read- you definitely won't be disappointed. Two thumbs up!!!
